The group
The group works in the field of Soil Science and has been involved in national and international projects with research institutes and private companies. We are among the few certified laboratories in the world for the preparation of standards of humic substances, we deal with elemental analysis for the determination of trace metals and, recently, we are setting up a microsensor laboratory for the study of the rhizosphere.

02/2024 - Just back from the ACWS winter school that this year was held in the beautiful city of Perugia! We shared discussion on our research but also pleasant time together with colleagues and friends. We look forward to seeing all again in Perugia next year.
08/2023 - Poster award for the work entitled Electron donating capacity of humic acids in agricultural soils under different tillage and fertilization management at the IHSS 2023 conference in Santiago, Chile. Congratulations to the whole group and to the chemists collaborators!
06/2023 - The PRIN project presented together with the Universities of Turin and Bari has been funded! We will study the role of root iron plaques in regulating phosphorus uptake in rice. We will also try to understand the mechanisms behind plaque formation and the potential plaque function in stabilizing soil organic matter.

The skills and specific experiences of the members of the group reflect the many research topics in progress and the new project proposals.
Students
In our laboratory, it is possible to carry out internships, thesis and post-graduate stages. Activities can also be carried out, in collaboration with our group, at private companies and research institutes in Italy and abroad.
